SNOWBOY
Morten's first solo album "Snowboy" (cat. 7243 8 45264 29 Virgin Records) was released in Norway on Virgin record label in 1997. The album was written and arranged by Morten and also produced by him together with Knut Bøhn and Glenn Rosenstein. The album sold 40,000 copies in Norway.

Two singles "Lydia" and "All Or Nothing" were released on 1-track promo CDs in Norway.

HERE WE GO THEN, YOU AND I
Morten's second solo album, "Here We Go Then, You And I" (cat. 7243 8 48440 28 Virgin Records) was released in Norway on 11th October 1999. The album was recorded during the winter of 1998 in Lincolnshire, Brighton and London. It was produced by Morten and Steve Lovell and mixed by Steve Lovell and Pete Jones. Two further tracks "Be My Lover" and "Don't Forget To Dance " were recorded and mixed at West Audio, Stavanger by Jostein Johnsen at the beginning of 1999.
Album sales are around 130,000 (double platinum status) in Norway.

The first single "Tulipz" (a radio promo only release) was mixed by Pascal Gabriel and released to radio stations on 16th August 1999 under the different title "True Love". It is a 1-track single featuring the radio version of "True Love" (3:24).

The second single "Doberman" (again promo only) was released to radio stations during the week beginning 1st November 1999. It is a two track CD single featuring the "Radio Edit" (3:29) of "Doberman" as well as the album version.
The third single "Be My Lover" was released to radio stations on 13th January 2000 and to the the shops on 28th February 2000. It features the "Radio Edit" (3:23), "Album Version" (4:59), "Instrumental" (4:58) plus the bonus tracks "Out Of Flames" - "Campfire Version" (5:36) and "Tulipz" - "Remix" (6:44) (the remix by Morten and Pascal which is the `secret track' on the album).

The final single to be released from the album was "Hard To Stay Awake". This 1-track promo only radio release featured the album version of the song.

FOREVER

The third solo album "I'll Come Back And Love You Forever" (cat. 7243 811598 28 Virgin Records) was released in Norway on 12th November 2001. The album was recorded in London (by Pascal Gabriel) during the Winter and Spring 2001 and in Sandnes, Norway (by Inge Riska) in the Spring / Summer 2001. The album was produced by Morten and Børge Fjordheim except tracks 1,4,5 and 7 which were written and produced by Morten and Pascal Gabriel. The album was mixed in Copenhagen and Stockholm by Michael Ilbert and in London by Tom Elmhirst.
The first single from the album was the title track "I'll Come Back And Love You Forever". Two slightly different versions of the promo single were sent out to radio stations. One includes a radio version (3:44).

Other singles from the album were "Don't Forget Me", "You Are The One LaLaLa" and "You Are Beautiful".

BEING EVERYTHING, KNOWING NOTHING
Morten's fouth solo album "Being Everything, Knowing Nothing" (cat. 7243 595920 22 Virgin Records) was released in Norway on 10th November 2003. The album was recorded in Norway by Inge Riska, Johnny Skalleberg and Yngve Sætre. The album was produced by Morten Abel, Børge Fjordheim and Yngve Sætre and mixed by Yngve Sætre.

The first single from the album was "The Birmingham Ho" (3:48). It was a promo only 1-track single which was released to Norwegian radio stations on 3rd October 2003.

The second single "Trendsetter" was released to Norwegian radio stations, December 2003. Again, this was a 1-track promo only single release.

The third promotional only single was "Inparticular". This 1-track promo includes only the album version of the track (4:05) and was released to radio stations in May(?).

On 1st December 2003, the DVD "Being Everything, Knowing Nothing" was released to Norwegian stores. The DVD includes: a Behind The Scenes documentary on the making of the new album; a film "Smerten har et navn" by Morten Abel and Arlid Omundsen featuring a football match between Abel's band and Kaizers Orchestra; live concert footage of "Welcome Home", "You Are Beautiful", "Hard To Stay Awake", "Tulipz" and "Stay Crazy" taken from the Quart Festival 5th July 2002 and Rockefeller October 2002 plus promo videos for "The Birmingham Ho", "You Are Beautiful", "Be My Lover" (not "Welcome Home" as listed on the sleeve) and "Lydia". The DVD also includes the video for "Tulipz" as a hidden Easter Egg! The total running time of the DVD is around 2 hours.

The DVD was reissued with a different cover (Morten sitting in a corridor) and was available for purchase on the 2004 tour.

MORTEN ABEL
Morten's fifth solo album is a Best of collection (cat. 7243 8 75794 22, Virgin Records (EMI)) and was released in Norway on 29th November 2004. This double album includes many of the hits plus some brand new tracks. Disc one features the 17 singles (including the new promo single "Our Love Is Deep") plus the brand new song "Detonate". Disc two features 12 new and unreleased tracks including some cover versions and live tracks.

A promo single of "Love Is Deep" (cat. 07243 816568 2 2) was released to Norwegian radio stations at the beginning of November. It features only the one track (3:40).

A live Morten Abel DVD was also released in Norway on 29 November. It features 57 minutes of the show at Oslo Rockefeller (12th March 2004), a 20 minute interview, a roadmovie documentary (18 minutes), a backstage documentary from Rockefeller (7 minutes) plus 90 still photos. There is also an "Easter Egg" hidden on the DVD which you can find by pressing track number 6 whilst in the extras menu.

Some Of Us Will Make It

Morten's new album "Some Of Us Will Make It" (cat. 0094638067603, EMI Music Norway) was released in Norway on 27 November 2006. The album is "Open Disc" and allows you access to bonus material, such as pictures, remixes and video material, at a special web link. The album was recorded in Berlin, Bergen, Stavanger, Cornwall and London. Three songs were produced and mixed by Jørgen Træn; Michael Ilbert mixed seven songs in Berlin and Ronny Lahti mixed one song in Stockholm. Pascal Gabriel produced one song ("Stars") with Morten and Børge. The rest of the album was produced by Morten and Børge.
The band who played on the album were Hans Petter Heggli (bass), Børge Fjordheim (drums) and Thomas Stenersen (guitar).
The first single "Big Brother" was released to radio stations on 24 October and released to stores on 13 November. The second single "Stars" was released on 12 February 207 and the third single "Swim Like A Fish" on 25 June 2007.
